19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
He rescued four early break points in a close final set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
