Since the moment last year that it was formally declared that Amazon would be developing a digital series based on BioWare's Mass Effect saga, fans questioned if it had the courage to tell an unique story and refrain from making it about Commander Shepard, the player-crafted protagonist from the original games. In a website announcement this week, they received their response.

BioWare lead producer Mike Gamble stated the show would "investigate a fresh story within the series' history, and will be located following the first trilogy." The message continues, "Expect no a repetition of Commander Shepard’s story – because in the end … that’s YOUR story, right?"

Ostensibly, this suggests the show may be about the peoples of the Milky Way reconstructing the universe in the after-effects of devastation left by the reapers.
